| Algae & Fungus Infested |
Fungus and algae infested due to continuous dampness of the wall, dirt collection on wall and improper formulation (insufficient fungicide and resin binder content) and natural cause due to long term exposure exceeding the designed life spans for algae resistance durations.
Water jet the wall to get rid of the algae and fungus, follow by treatment with KCC Fungicidal Wash. Allow dry and apply a coat of Koresil Sealer, follow by 2 coats of KCC Finishing of your choice.
| Efflorescenced |
Cause by dampness in the wall substrate due to insufficient drying (new plaster) or water leakage, cracks in the wall allowing water penetrating inside resulting in high alkalinity of the concrete substrate and improper primer / sealer used.
Allow new Plastering dried thoroughlyt, water jet clean off all loose paintwork, repair cracks with approprite wall filler, allow dry and apply one coat of premium Koresil 401 Adhesion Promoting Wall Sealer, follow by the recommended finish coat.
| Powdery / Chalky |
Formation of white powdery on the surface paint film due to use of low grade, highly pigmented paint or too much of adulteration with lime powder or using high PVC interior paint for exterior application.
Water jet clean off all loose paintwork, allow dry and apply one coat of Koresil Wall Sealer follow by using quality recommended paint.
| Flaking & Peeling |
Peeling / flaking with paint film lifted from substrate or intercoat, because of poor adhesion due to inadequate surface preparation, poor adhesion primer / sealer, improper formulation (poor bonding maybe due to insufficient resin binder due to use of low quality paint, seepage of moisture in the concrete substrate or applying the paint over high alkaline level etc.)
Apply on well prepared clean and dry surfaces. Water jet clean off all loose paintwork, allow dry and apply one coat of Koresil Adhesion Promoting Wall Sealer, follow by the recommended finish coat.
| Wrinkling |
Formation of undulating 'wrinkling' film due to surface shrinkage, especially alkyd paint, when application over oily or greasy surface, too thick a coat applied or force drying by high temperature.
Scrap off affected surface coatings, sand down and clean surfaces thoroughly before repainting with the desired paint.
| Blistering |
Small bubbles appearing on the paint film due to moisture entrapment in the surface coating or inside the concrete substrate, air entrapment during application using brush or roller, too fast recoating time, over stirring of paint especially gloss paint etc.
Allow sufficient drying time for each coat before recoating, ensure concrete substrate is thoroughly dry through, minimise shaking vigrously gloss paint and avoid applying excessive thickness for each coat.
