Woodwork / Timber
Smoothen new wood by sanding with fine or medium glass paper and primed with a coat of Alkyd 151AL, then make good all joints, cracks, nail holes etc.
Painting Over Galvanized Steelwork
When painting over galvanized or non-alloy substrates, it is essential to apply a coat of PolyEtch 100 Epoxy Wash Primer as an 'adhesion primer' before applying the finishing coats.

Painting Over Rusty Steelworks
When applying over rusty metal surfaces, ensure all loose paint, rust are thoroughly removed by scrapping and 'chipping', follow by sanding and solvent cleaning and primed with a coat of KCC Zinc Chromate Primer, before topcoating with the finishing coat.

New Concrete Masony & Repainting
New concrete should be allowed to dry until moisture content is below 12% as measured with Portimeter, which usually takes about 2-4 weeks after plastering subject to the weather conditions. The presence of form release agents and laitance deposits on new plastering must be considered and thoroughly removed before painting.

All dirt, algae, fungus, loose paint film etc. on the old substrate shall be removed by high pressure water jet cleaning. Apply KCC fungicidal solution on area infested with algae / fungus. All cracks and minor surface damange shall be make good with approprite sealant or putty and allow dry prior to painting.

All areas subject to water leakage or excessive / constant moisture affected areas shall be corrected by covering-up or water-proofing the source of areas causing the problems.
